SJF Parent Teacher Club Family Volunteer Hours St. John Fisher School Family Volunteer Opportunities and Guidelines 2009-10 FVH Documents - Family Volunteer Opportunities (2010-2011) Overview & Guidelines Part of the St John Fisher experience includes volunteering and community service. By taking part in one or more of the following school activities, we are showing our students, by example a commitment that lasts throughout life. Fundraising events such as the Auction, Jogathon and Spaghetti Dinner are a critical part of balancing the budget and keeping tuition affordable each year. Forms are due to the office by May 30th, 2009. The family volunteer hours run April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. The number of hours required is 30 hours for each two parent family and 15 hours for each single parent family. New families to SJF are only required to fulfill 20 hours their first year. There is a $15 value attached to each hour or $450 total. Any family not fulfilling their hours will be billed the difference. We encourage a minimum of 10 hours be associated with a fund raising activity. Attached is a list of volunteer opportunities. Please check off those areas in which you would like to share your talents and time. As you fulfill your volunteer hours, please fill out a family volunteer form available in the office and place in the designated box. Positions with a name next to it have already been filled for the current year. All other positions are on a first come first serve basis. There will be a Volunteer Fair on April 19th, 2009 to address any questions you may have regarding the positions. Overnight school field trips are limited to a maximum of 10 FVH hours per trip. Day field trips are eligible for actual number of hours for the assigned parent chaperones, up to a maximum of 10 hours per field trip. Meetings such as PTC, Men's Club etc are limited to 1 hour. Church functions such as ushers, choir singers, liturgy readers, Eucharistic ministers, etc. are not eligible for volunteer hours. Exceptions to this are Faith Cafe, St Vincent DePaul and Coffee and Donuts for which up to 5 hours will be granted. If you have any questions please contact: Rich and Kirsten Meneghello, PTC
